Fresh information about the upcoming Arrowverse crossover ‘Crisis on Earth-X’ is coming in and this includes a new role for the universes’s favorite characters Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller).
The recently revealed synopsis of ‘Crisis on Earth-X’ showed a range of “super-friends” joining the Arrowverse’s heroes in their fight against villains of Earth-X. Snart is among them and he will have a new name – Citizen Cold.
DC Comics fans can recall this alias from Snart’s earlier appearances in the Flashpoint universe. In that alternate world, Snart was the main hero of Central City, who helped his sister escape from the confinement of his Rogues gallery of villains.
However, we have already seen the Flashpoint timeline in The Flash Season Three, and the entire timeline of Earth-1’s Leonard Snart doesn’t show a name change. Then how does Citizen Cold fit into ‘Crisis on Earth-X/?
The simplest solution is that this version of Snart also belongs to Earth-X, alongside the heroes. Viewers will be introduced to one of Earth-X’s heroes during the crossover, Ray Terrill aka The Ray (Russell Tovey) and the first promotional poster for Freedom Fighters: The Ray suggests that he is just going to be one of the heroes. Citizen Cold might also join the Freedom Fighters or get involved in the ‘Crisis on Earth-X’ battle in some other way.
