It’s just been its third weekend at the global box office and second in domestic theaters, but, Thor: Ragnarok has already entered the list of 10 highest-grossing movies this year.
Thor: Ragnarok grossed $76 million overseas this weekend which saw its international box office tally to reach $438.5 million. This added to the film’s current domestic total of $211.5 has taken its overall total to $650 million.
In comparison to other recent Marvel releases such as Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok is expected to bring in over $500 million by the time it ends its box-office run internationally.
Thor: Ragnarok totaled $56 million domestically this weekend, which gave it the second top finish. Thor: Ragnarok happens to be Marvel Studio’s 17th successive release which had a number one opening at the box office. The film’s success has also seen MCU become the first ever movie franchise to gross more than $5 billion at the domestic box office.
Thor: Ragnarok is currently running in theaters. The future MCU films are; Black Panther on February 16, 2018, Avengers: Infinity War on May 4, 2018, Ant-Man and the Wasp on July 6, 2018, Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019, Avengers 4 on May 3, 2019, Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 on July 5, 2019, followed by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in 2020.
