Following the Justice League movie, a Flashpoint movie is on the cards for the DCEU, and this will include a Batman.
While fans of DC Comics know the title of Flashpoint to be inclusive of the comic universe’s greatest names, the movie seems to be following the same lead. This story written by Geoff Johns sees a huge battle between the Amazons and Atlanteans which takes place in a world which was created when Barry saved his mother’s life and skewed the timeline. It also caused Bruce Wayne to take the bullet rather than his father.
The writer of the series, Geoff Johns has promised that Batman will be present in the Flashpoint movie.
“There’s elements in it that we’re going to be playing into that we couldn’t do anywhere else,” Johns explains. “The scale of it, the Batman story of it all.”
Johns has not clarified which Batman will be featured in the movie. As the comics go, Thomas Wayne dons the cowl in Flashpoint.
Morgan and Flash actor, Ezra Miller have expressed interests in seeing the current Walking Dead star reprise the role with a cape. The comic story resets when Barry Allen corrects this timeline and makes Bruce Wayne Batman. The live-action adaptation reserves the opportunity to provide Ben Affleck the “graceful segue out” the Batman character he has been searching for.
The seeds for the Flashpoint movie were planted in Justice League in a scene which features Barry visiting his father Henry in prison.
The Flashpoint movie is slated for 2020, which follows Aquaman, Shazam, and Wonder Woman 2 movies. While the identity of the Batman character and actor is yet to be revealed, Flashpoint will be Jason Momoa’s next outing as Aquaman.
Justice League is now playing in theaters.
