Star Wars: The Last Jedi witnessed extremely varying responses from the viewers regarding the movie’s events and how it shuffled the old and new characters. At the moment, various debates are focused on the way the Episode VII and Episode VIII have changed the franchise, however, there is one thing about the sequel trilogy which is getting a great deal of support, and that is Kylo Ren/Ben Solo being among the most fascinating characters in the saga.
While Kylo Ren has been growing in stature to become the new legendary villain in Star Wars, it is evident that the character has enough depth and mystery to deserve its own Star Wars solo movie.
Solo: A Star Wars Story
The very first interesting thing about him is the story of Ben Solo. How and when he was born and how did he live during his early years with parents as famous as Princess Leia and Han? There is a great deal of topics and questions which the loyal Star Wars fans would love to get answers for, and those are also great themes for a film:
These are the kind of questions which all the fans would like to find answers for to complete the story of Kylo Ren. At the same time, there are also great character development points for Ben Solo/Kylo Ren to explore in his own solo movie.
Star Wars has always been concentrated on the Skywalker clan and how various members of the bloodline have struggled to balance their mighty Force links. The Last Jedi initiates a process which sees the narrative being expanded, however, before we leave the Skywalker saga behind, we must not overlook one of the most fascinating parts of that saga!
Among the two “fallen” Skywalkers, (Anakin and Ben) the latter has a chance to provide the fans with a gripping tale of the struggle between light and dark and the events which pushed him down the nasty path, in a manner which was not properly explored regarding the former. Although a lot of fans still consider Episode III – Return of the Sith to be a superb movie, a lot of the viewers, found events like Anakin switching to the dark side to have been ruined by the same issues which provided us with trolled scenes such as “You killed younglings!” dialogue and also the highly criticized “Noooo” scene when Anakin woke up for the first time as Vader.
The one aspect which fans have loved about these movies is the way they portray a darker and morally complicated version of the Star Wars story. Ben Solo’s origin story has deep tones of such complex situations, and Adam Driver has the talent and mannerism to powerfully depict the potentially explosive and conflicting sentiments of Ben/Kylo. While the prequels couldn’t do justice to the significance of a Jedi’s switch to the dark side, the story of Ben Solo’s downfall might just hit the bull’s eye with genuine emotional heaviness, considering we are already familiar with his journey to the dark side and his family which has ultimately witnessed tragic losses such as Han Solo, Luke, and even Admiral Ackbar.
