Since the announcement of Star Trek Discovery it has become one of the most anticipated science fiction show, even though it garnered some negativity because of the constant changes in the management and CBS’s decision to launch this show directly on Streaming services rather than the Typical channel based airing.
It’s been more than 12 years since the last Star Trek TV show “Star Trek: Enterprise” has ended. The show was so bad that it wasn’t even allowed to finish its full run and was shut down abruptly with a lousy ending. Star Trek: Discovery is set 10 years before the events of Original Star Trek show, and yes, there will be some overlapping characters. 1. LT. Commander Michael Burnham.
Sonequa Martin-Green is playing the character of Michael, and she is the main protagonist of Star Trek: Discovery. She is be playing the role of First Officer. We still don’t know why her name is “Michael” may be the new Star Trek is trying to make a point that in the future the names won’t be gender specific. She is a Vulcan or may be a half-Vulcan because in the trailer we witness Spock’s Dad calling her “Too Human” to learn the Vulcan language. The whole story will be revolving around Michael’s character.
2. Captain Phillipa Georgiou
The famous Chinese heroine Michelle Yeoh is going to helm the Enterprise starship Shenzhou, she is playing the role of the Captain Phillipa. She will be playing an important part in this series, even though she not going to helm Star Trek: Discovery. We see Michael and herself sharing some dialogues related to their career, and they seem to have some history.
3. LT. Stamets
Anthony Rapp portrays the character of LT. Stamets, which will be Star Trek’s first openly gay character. Many fiction fans have reprimanded Star Trek writers for not adding a gay character in previous shows. Anthony is a well-known Broadway actor.
