The Legends of Tomorrow will get smaller in Season Three as a member will leave the cast.
Victor Garber, who plays Dr. Martin Stein will exit the show this year, according to a report by Deadline. Warner Bros. TV and The CW did not provide comments on his departure.
Garber has been a staple in The CW’s superhero shows since he debuted as Firestorm in The Flash. He has appeared as part of Legends of Tomorrow, using Firestorm powers wit Jax Jackson played by Franz Drameh.
A veteran of this stage, Garber’s departure has been rumored since he announced that he would be returning to Broadway for Hello Dolly!
Given that the show’s production in Vancouver and schedule for filming episodes, it makes sense that Garber can exit Legends of Tomorrow.
The report says that Broadway show’s schedule has six days per week with seven to eight shows every week. This schedule is not conducive to shooting a television program.
But Deadline reports that the exit will not happen right away:
“[He] will remain series regular on the current third season of Legends Of Tomorrow though there are no current plans for him to return for further episodes. Still, with the time-travel nature of the superhero show, there is always a possibility for characters to be brought back.”
Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 has kicked off and shows the team’s efforts to fix the timeline after “breaking” it to stop the Legion of Doom’s attempts to take control of history in the Season Two finale.
