Nearly Dead and Not Walking–10 Times Glenn Rhee from ‘The Walking Dead’ Almost Died . . . But Didn’t.
Glenn and Maggie are taken hostage at the Governor’s base and separated from one another. This was one of the more heartbreaking moments of the show as Glenn is left to assume the worst about Maggie. If you thought that was the worst part then I am sorry to tell you that that is only the beginning of it. Then, Merle releases a particularly nasty-looking walker on Glenn who quite literally has his hands behind his back, tied down to a chair. In a typical Glenn fashion, he did somehow manage to escape, in the process letting out the loudest He-Man roar of the season.
An ominous virus is plaguing the prison and Glenn falls ill as a result of it. This leads to a scene where Maggie finds that Glenn is barely conscious and he is gurgling blood. Ultimately, he is saved by a Hershel-meets-House M.D. moment.
