The ongoing ACE Comic-Con is a mega event for Comic Book lovers, and it is host to several big panels which facilitate interaction between fans and celebrities as well as makers of popular films.
Recently there was a panel comprising of Captain America cast members Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan. During a discussion about Avengers battling the Justice League, Sebastian Stan came up with some daring thoughts.
First Sebastian shed some light on Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine crossing over with Avengers in MCU. We are thankful to him for being a part of the panel where he gave some entertaining information to the fans.
“Recently I happened to be sitting next to Hugh Jackman. I didn’t know what other awkward thing I could talk about but to be like, ‘Am I going to see you soon?’ I don’t know. But he said a couple of things to me, and I’ll just leave it at that. Otherwise, I feel like I’m going to get into trouble with somebody. I asked him because I kept thinking he said whether or not that was, Logan, was supposed to be the last Wolverine thing or whatever and he said to me, well I think he publicly said out there, which was like he’s been thinking about it and it’s been on his mind. So, I don’t know; he may be.”
That’s is it, Jackman is even considering it. Then Stan made a very bold statement on Avengers v Justice League. Responding to the question posed before the panel, Stan gave a short, but, hammering reply. This is what he said:
“Who’s that?” (Who’s Justice League?)
That’s a low blow! Irrespective of what others say, he has the right to ridicule DC’s biggies to continue their healthy rivalry. The League has some iconic members who can beat the Avengers easily, but, they can’t size up to the Avengers at the box office, or with the critics that is. Thus, it is not a battle that the League would win at present, as Marvel is at the pinnacle, and DC movies don’t even give a close contest.
However, let DC evolve and give it a time to stabilize, make smart films, avoid rushing, and to give creative freedom to their directors rather than interfering with directorial vision. If that happens then, DC might consistently deliver, just like Wonder Woman did.
Honestly, Justice League cast was keen to take on the Avengers at their panel at another ACE Comic-Con which was held in December at Long Island. This is what Jason Momoa said.
“Aw, yeah man, hell yeah. I absolutely want to get thrown around by the Hulk. And then I want to take his ass out the ocean and drown him. ‘Not so tough now, are ya, punk?!’ And then we’ll be friends. We’re all very much friends with those other actors from [Chris] Hemsworth to Robert Downey, I mean all of them, and so it’s just fun. I mean we’re superheroes. We’re having an awesome time playing great characters.”
That’s when the Cyborg actor Ray Fisher joined the chatter.
“Smackdown? Yeah! I mean if there was a fight between the two groups, I’m fairly certain Superman and Wonder Woman would probably take maybe 90 percent of them out. [Cyborg and Aquaman would be] cheerleading on the side. Cyborg would play the foghorn. I mean, we all talk about it. Its the same argument about who’s faster, Superman or the Flash, you know? There’s any given circumstance where either team would be able to win. But its fun to just have that kind of fantasy.”
Wonder Woman Gal Gadot also chipped in with her opinion.
“For sure, I would love that. I think the more, the merrier. All of these characters are great, you know, we’re not enemies. There’s DC, and there’s Marvel, and they’re all great, and we can do DC-Marvel, starting with DC, and then everything would be super-awesome.”
True, it would be a fascinating screen battle, and maybe some years down the line, it might actually be made, if people are open to the crossover between the two comic book giant franchises.
