The final entry of Machinima’s Transformers: Prime Wars series seems to be adding a few impressive stars to their voice cast. Mark Hamill and Ron Perlman are now in. Star War’s Hamill will voice the Megatronus starting from the finale of Transformers: Titans Return. Perlman will lend his voice to Optimus Primal in Transformers: Power of the Primes.
A co-production between Machinima and Hasbro, The Prime Wars Trilogy is a great success. Combiner Wars had showcased iconic combiners in Transformers- Devastator, Computron, and Predaking. The follow-up, Titans Return showed Cybertron menaced by Decepticon Trypticon, who had faced off with Fortress Maximus and Autobots Metroplex.
Power of the Primes features Megatronus, the original 13 Primes who had splintered from the others and was founded the Decepticons. Cybertron’s heroes must enlist a few reinforcements in order to survive. This comes in the guise of Optimus Primal.
Hamill and Perlman are great voice actors and this along with Judd Nelson, Gregg Berger, and Wil Wheaton just adds to the fun.
Perlman is a newbie in the Transformers universe and has done many other voiceover works- Adventure Time and Archer.
The previous installments had lacked a foreboding villain – Trypticon’s massive, he did not have a personality. Including Hamill to the cast is an epic way to wrap up this story.
The Prime Wars Trilogy is calibrated from the start to appeal to all fans of Transformers and enlisting a voice cast such as this for its finale suggests that they know that it is important that they stick the landing.
