A life like version of the Game of Thrones star’s head was created to shoot a sequence, and the show’s fans were traumatized to the extent that they had to resort to Twitter to express their shock.
Just as the concluding scenes in the nasty Gunpowder storyline were shown last night, we saw Robert Catesby, the character played by Kit meet a gory end.
A viewer commented after seeing the decapitated head of the actor, “Okay seeing Kit Harington’s head on a spike is not okay #Gunpowder.”
“Nothing has made me more uncomfortable than seeing Kit’s head on a spike…#gunpowder,” another fan said
A third commented: ”I hope that’s the last time I see Kit Harington’s head on a spike *stares at game of thrones* #Gunpowder.”
This episode released after Kit had said that he had used this scary prop to frighten his girlfriend, Rose Leslie on the April Fool’s Day.
Kit had appeared on The Jonathan Ross show in October, and he chuckled when the host showed the video of Rose opening their fridge door before letting out a frightened shriek and falling on the floor.
He then showed a photograph of the fridge’s contents on the screen, which included a bloody decapitated imitation of Kit’s head, which he had placed there to pull the prank on his fiancée.
“After that, she was in tears, and I was there going ‘April Fools…’” Kit laughed sheepishly.
Admitting that his prank “didn’t go down well,” he further said: “She pretty much told me if I did it ever again that would be it – and I think that’s marriage included.”
