We recently saw Hot Pie in a Game of Thrones season 7 episode, and he has now set up his own bakery that sells Direwolf bread. Ben Hawkey who portrays Hot Pie, has named his new venture “You Know Nothing John Dough” to highlight its Game of Thrones origins. The bakery opened exclusively through Deliveroo on the very weekend that saw the new season premiere. The Direwolf bread refers to the Direwolf bread he had baked for Arya in the show before they went their separate ways. Although it was not really very presentable, to begin with, he mastered it as he went along and later we saw him give much better quality Direwolf bread to Brienne in the series. Recently, we saw Hot Pie reunite with Arya, and then he further explored his baking methods.
The ‘John Dough’ bread is made from whole wheat cornbread and orange zest. It is best when served slightly warm with soft butter, and that’s a great improvement from what we saw in the show. Ben Hawkey stated, “Hot Pie’s Direwolf loaves are a favorite for Game of Thrones fans, and people are always asking me for the secret of my recipe. I can’t share that, but Deliveroo customers will have the chance to try them themselves. You don’t even need to take a dangerous walk down the King’s Road to visit; it comes to you.”
You can order The Direwolf loaves on Deliveroo at only USD 1.30 each.
