Dylan O’Brien is a die-hard anime lover, and he is very interested in playing Goku in case a live-action Dragon Ball film gets made.
Dylan is presently busy finishing his work on the Maze Runner franchise’s third and last movie, The Death Cure, which is expected to come out in late January. Looking at the future, he is keen to play one of his favorite anime characters in live-action.
“There’s just so many that I’m obsessed with,” O’Brien told ComicBook.com while answering a question about the anime character that he would love to play. Fortunately, his co-star from Maze Runner, Dexter Darden instantly brought to his notice the character that he has his sights set on.
“You remember, you wanted to be Goku from Dragon Ball Z,” Darden said.
“It would have to be Goku,” O’Brien said. “Just cause I naturally always do stuff like this...” In an obvious reflex action, he then struck a Kamehameha pose to display his prowess as the Saiyan. You can have a look at the video above.
The recent movie role of O’Brien might make him a worthy contender for the role. In the last Maze Runner film, he has been a part of numerous action sequences which appear to be as much demanding and energy-sapping as possible. Beyond Maze Runner, he has displayed his acting skills in American Assassin. In that film, he plays a character who has been severely impacted by the unfortunate death of his fiancée. O’Brien has now staked claim to being renowned as a serious action star.
For the time being, you can prepare to watch this young actor in Maze Runner: The Death Cure, the final chapter of the franchise. The Maze Runner started in 2014 with the original Maze Runner movie, and its sequel came out in 2015. The last film had to be pushed back to 2018 because of an on-set injury, which O’Brien recovered from in the genuine Goku style. Now, Maze Runner: The Death Cure is all ready to release into theaters on January 26, 2018.
