The new character breakdown related to DC’s Titans indicates that the upcoming live-action show is hunting for its Donna Troy.
She is probably better known in her original identity of Wonder Girl, and this DC Comics superhero has been an early member of the Teen Titans who joined them soon after the team was formed by Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqualad.
The Character breakdown was unveiled by That Hashtag Show, and it calls for a “confident and kick-ass” female in her 20s, “Caucasian or Latina or Middle Eastern, or ethnically ambiguous.” The character is named as “Ruth Gibbs,” which most likely is just a place-holder, the role is being speculated to be of Donna Troy. There is a great deal of chance that from the guest appearances in Season 1, the character will become a regular part of the series in the Season 2.
Donna Troy has a complicated history which various comics writers have repeatedly tried to resolve with partial success. She debuted as the teenage version of the Wonder Woman, she rapidly (or mistakenly) came to be shown as a separate character, Diana’s adoptive younger sibling Wonder Girl. This was the role that stuck to her for a couple of decades before DC Comics changes separated her from Wonder Woman and the Amazons.
After that, she has been called as Darkstar, Troia, and Donna Troy and she even played the part of Wonder Woman for a short while.
Titans is all set to premiere in early 2018 on the WB brand new DC Comics-branded digital platform and the series features Brenton Thwaites as Robin, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, and Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, with Alan Ritchson as Hawk, Minka Kelly as Dove, and Lindsey Gort as Detective Amy Rohrbach.
