9. Smoking Is Actually A Big Problem On The Enterprise
The Utopian futuristic individuals of Star Trek don’t appear to succumb to vices unless they’re aliens, since this show is truly xenophobic. Notwithstanding this squeaky-clean exterior, one bad habit seems to have made it into the 23rd Century: smoking. If you look carefully, in a few scenes you can simply make out No Smoking signs on the bridge of the Enterprise.
Smoking’s such an issue, that even the bridge team is reminded not to light up while operating the lead of the Federation. There’s even a sign in the transporter room encouraging you not to smoke while your body’s being disintegrated.
8. Commander Riker Refuses To Sit Down Properly
Commander Riker from Star Trek: The Next Generation has numerous undeniable character qualities. For example, he plays the trombone, is famous with the women, and having a beard. There’s one essential piece of his identity you may have missed, however: He takes a seat like an insane person. Rather than sitting on a seat, the way most people do, he swings his legs over the top of the seat, mounting it like it’s a horse. Furthermore, he gets up in the same fashion.
