Ahsoka Tano’s is one of those great Star Wars characters that have all the rights to share the podium with the legendary Obi-Wan, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Leia, Han, Chewbacca etcetera. The creators have been telling her story from past eight years. We have seen her grow from a reckless 14 years old teenage girl in “The Animated Clone Wars” to a fully grown woman in her 30’s during her run in the “Rebels.”
Ahsoka has been close to all the classic characters like Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Darth Vader and if you take a step back to critically analyze her role, you will find that she is an element that binds prequels, Clone Wars, Original Trilogy and even the Star Wars: Rebels together.
Tano was there at all the high points of the Star Wars lore, and still, she can confidently say that she is not “Jedi or a Sith.” She was right in the epicenter of the big “Change” around which the Star Wars story has spun. Her closeness to Anakin has injected the thought in the minds of the audience that she is an important character right from her inception.
Anakin’s change in behavior directly impacted her relationship with Ahsoka, but he was able to suppress it in front of his masters like Obi-Wan, and that’s the reason her part was like a window for us to see how Anakin is moving towards the Darkside.
In her earlier stages, many fans were getting annoyed by her heedless character, but that cartoon show’s target audience were kids, and they wanted a character that’s naive which has similar questions or attitude like a jumpy kid.
But as the time progressed, we saw changes in her persona as the results of the harsh circumstances she had to endure in her course. And when she got back in Rebel, we see a completely grown up Tano whose lightsaber mastery and force skills have grown exponentially. She became the bad-ass individual that we all expected her to be but at the same moment, we can also see her “contained” bubbly nature in her behavior that gives her uniqueness.
Ahsoka has attained the status of “Fan Favorite” during her adventurous eight years long course. There are multiple appreciation groups and fan pages on Facebook that are entirely devoted to her.
