The most successful TV series of the day is undoubtedly Game of Thrones. Therefore, it doesn’t come as a surprise to get a prequel from such a show. The news about Game of Thrones prequels was heard some time back as well, however, now it seems that another Game of Thrones prequel is being readied.
The Emmy-winning producers of Game of Thrones are now entrusted with the task of penning the spin-off for HBO. As reported by EW, Bryan Cogman, the co-executive producer of Game of Thrones is writing a mammoth Fifth prequel for the grandest fantasy series on TV.
The Season 7 ended recently, and we are well aware of the fact that Season 8 is the final season of the series, and it will feature only six episodes. The show is globally renowned, and the AsolaF world is so huge that a lot of spin-offs can be made and given the huge fanbase, any of the spin-offs has to be grand too.
Since the Game of Thrones will be wrapped up anytime in the next two years, fans are already keen to watch the prequels. The series has a very complex history, and a spin-off would be almost as epic as the Game of Thrones.
Time Warner’s HBO twx had earlier this year confirmed the production of four separate spin-off prequels as commissioned by the network and they are already under production. Each of these spin-offs will have a unique story from a different timeline based in the Game of Thrones history.
There is no information about the storyline of the Bryan Cogman prequel. However, it is bound to be good irrespective of what it is. Cogman has been a vital force behind the Game of Thrones, right from the time its first season aired in 2011.
We also hear that the show runners of Game of Thrones, David Benioff, and D.B. Weiss will not be a part of the prequels to follow the show. As of now, we don’t even know for sure if or when will the prequels air?
However, chances are really high for the Game of Thrones to continue in the form of prequels even after the main show wraps up.
