One of the outstanding features in Star Trek throughout the years has been the make-up and special effects. The work done in those departments to create the alien species the various crews have encountered along the way are phenomenal and show that the franchise is second to none in the Sci-Fi world. The skills showcased by the team working on Star Trek that is of such high standards that it can be hard to recognize the actors and actresses beneath the disguise. This article is all about that. As a tribute, we will remember some of our favorite female aliens and display how they look in real life. See the marked differences.
1. Lieutenant Llia – Persis Khambatta
Ardent fans will undoubtedly remember Lieutenant Llia from Star Trek: The Motion Picture. The character was played by Indian actress and Former Miss India Persis Khambatta. Until she was killed by the V`ger entity, Llia served as a navigator aboard the USS Enterprise in 2271 with the original series crew. Since then, she went on to do parts in Nighthawks and Megaforce aside from appearances in popular TV shows such as MacGyver. Unfortunately, she passed away from a heart attack in 1998 aged just 49.
2. Rionoj – Leslie Bevis
Rionoj, played by Leslie Bevis was a semi-regular character from Deep Space 9. She is a shady female Boslic who had various links and dealings with Quark and throughout the Gamma Quadrant. Apart from this role, Leslie Bevis made many other Sci-Fi appearances in the TV in the ‘80s and ‘90s:You may recognize her from other roles such as Commanderette Zircon in Spaceballs and Alien Nation. She has done non-sci-fi roles as well.
