5 Reasons Confirm Suicide Squad’s Failure Is “Death Of DC Cinematic Universe”
3. Panic At The DCisco
Editing, re-shoots, last minute alterations… none of this is uncommon for Hollywood blockbusters. Yet, the studio’s terrified response to awful reviews for Batman v Superman appears to have compounded the situation. Rather than fixing a film that wasn’t working, executives went crazy at some other film’s awful reviews and began monkeying with an alternate one completely. What’s more, after this fiasco, will those execs get down to business on the films in production like the Justice League and Wonder Woman?
The main trailer for Justice League that came out of San Diego Comic-Con 2016 resembled a shift from the two Zack Snyder-helmed DCEU films that preceded it. It had wacky minutes with Bruce Wayne conversing with Wonder Woman, the Flash, and even Aquaman, where he says, “I hear you can talk with fish.” Humour and applause, correct? Hold up, that is not entertaining. In fact, it doesn’t go well with everything that precedes it in the trailer. It’s pleasant to see that Zack Snyder and his group are course-redressing from the unusually horrid adventures they’ve delivered to this point. In any case, it just about feels like your dumb boss is coming to work wearing a Hawaiian shirt. He’s not entirely more fun or cool than before and now he just appears as though he’s trying a little too hard.
