Brimming with awesome characters, zombies, and stories of survival, it’s not unexpected that AMC’s The Walking Dead has a large cult following. Even with the insane twists in plots which make you sit at the edge of your seat, there are still a few things numerous fans might not be aware of. Here are five amazing realities about The Walking Dead.
1. School For The “Walkers”
If you think that the extras in the show have an in-built talent of playing zombies, think again. All of them actually went to “school” to learn the art. Every one of the on-screen characters who play “walkers” are required to go to zombie school where they train on becoming the ideal “walker.” The on-screen characters then get reviewed based on looks and performance before appearing on screen.
2. Many Actors Have Origins Abroad
Even though the show takes place on American land, a huge number of the actors are from abroad. Andrew Lincoln (Rick) and Lauren Cohan (Maggie) are both locals of the UK. Steven Yuen’s (Glen) birth place is in Seoul, South Korea and she was brought up in the U.S. Also, DanaiGurira, who plays Michonne, was born in the U.S. and brought up in Zimbabwe.
