Doctor Who and Star Wars have a lot in common, from their matching themes and settings down to the science fiction fans that love them both. They also share successful actors of their cast and you will be surprised to know the names of these fabulous artists who’ve traded the Time Vortex for a galaxy far, far away (or vice versa)…
Here is the never seen before list of 20 artists who managed to bag themselves roles in both Star Wars and Doctor Who series.
1. Peter Cushing: Grand Moff Tarkin (Star Wars) & The Doctor (Doctor Who)
Peter Cushing, will always be applauded and remembered for his work in Star Wars franchise as Grand Moff Tarkin. Few of us know that he portrayed the character of “The Doctor” in two films Doctor Who and the Daleks (1965) based on the televised serial The Daleks (1963), and Daleks Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D. (1966), based on The Dalek Invasion of Earth (1964). Plans for a third film was abandoned following the poor box office reception of the second movie. The actor made no mention of the films in his autobiography, may be because those films were not that successful, although he kept a collection of newspaper clippings about them in a scrapbook.
2. Freema Agyeman: Martha Jones (Doctor Who) & Citizen of Hosnian Prime (Star Wars the force awakens)
Freema Agyeman, well known for his character Martha Jones in Doctor Who, made a cameo appearance as a terror-struck citizen on Hosnian Prime just before the planet was destroyed by Starkiller Base.
