As a child I made Wolverine clawsby paper towel tubes, elastic bands and metal coat holders. They really were cool. They were also hazardous. I cut myself badlywith those. In any case, I was only a stupid child. Proficient actors with groups of designers make up individuals and stuntmen don’t get hurt isn’t it? Well, they do and once in a while in shocking ways. Here are 13 characters being squeezed, punched, busted and broken by their costumes.
1. Mystique’s Make Up Made Her Vomit Blue
Rebecca Romjin (previously Stamos) was encased in blue make for her role as the shape-shifter Mystique in X-Men (2000). She got a jug of tequila to share with the cast and team amid a break during shots. The make-up had been absorbed in her skin and she hurled blue-shaded vomit all over Hugh Jackman.
2. Batman Almost Fainted
Christian Bale has played Batman on the three Christopher Nolan film. On the arrangement of Batman Begins he nearly blacked out. The Batman outfit has a headpiece called a cowl. He said, “When it gets chilly the cowl is very tight. Yet, after a few takes I was attempting to inhale properly in my nose. I was beginning to see stars and I said ‘I need to take this off’.” He needed to get off the set before taking it out. As it is, he wasn’t permitted to take his costume off on set.
3. Hawkeye’s Shoulder Tore On His Bow
Jeremy Renner was Clint “Hawkeye” Barton for the film The Avengers. Joss Whedon said in a meeting that they needed to close down filming after he tore his shoulder. He further stated that he’s a stunning warrior – his fighting is great: exact, chivalrous, and you rarely need a double. However, one day he simply turned wrong and his entire body close down. He couldn’t do anything. He was in tremendous pain and they needed to close the shooting for two or three weeks. Renner had torn the muscle from his back to his shoulder. The reason? Renner said, “The bowstring got stuck in my belt.”
