10 Times The Doctor Behaved Like A Total Mongrel On Doctor Who.
The Doctor makes a definitive penance, giving up his own life for his partner Peri, a whiny American whom he hardly knows. Thereafter, he spends his entire next lifetime tormenting Peri to rebuff her for it. To begin with, he has an especially perverted post-regeneration “trauma.” As opposed to dressing as a Viking or playing the spoons, he just goes and strangles Peri for a few hours. Later, once he settles down into his new body, he stops tormenting his buddy physically and is psychologically and emotionally abusive. Finally, he “becomes evil” after a messed up procedure. He forsakes Peri to have her head shaved and her memory eradicated to clear a path for the brain of a monster sea slug. After that, one of two things happens: 1) Peri dies or Peri survives and weds a psychopathic warrior lord who proceeds with being very abusive towards Peri. In any case, the Doctor never goes back to find out.
After Peri and a couple of other unpleasant associates, the Doctor at last, gets a nice one: Ace. She wears a bomber jacket and is kind of a child punk-rocker. The Doctor detects the potential for genuine greatness in Ace, which can be brought to the fore by enormous mental and emotional brutality. The Doctor discovers what upsets Ace, and after that rubs her face in it. It was a spooky house that freaked her out as a child. Here it is, loaded with spooky Victorian monsters! Clowns? Here’s an entire planet of them. Her mother? Here’s her mother as a child. At long last, everything comes full circle with the Doctor endeavoring to prod an immortal power of evil into slaughtering Ace, since she’s only a damaged pawn. He’s simply deploying a massively unpretentious stratagem, similar to when he welcomed the Sontarans to come and kill all the Time Lords.
