10. This Side of Paradise a.k.a. The One Where Spock Totally Gets Some (Episode 25)
The Plot: The Enterprise is sent to Omicron Ceti III, where people of a colony have been pulverised by Berthold beams. However, they discover the colony is alive and the people are in perfect shape and health. In fact, even childhood wounds have healed. Apparently, it’s all because of a healing plant.
The Mistake: This is one mistake that numerous shows, books and films have committed earlier: the disclosure that something that would change the whole universe. However, this is just utilized once and never alluded to until the end of time. This particular healing plant can recuperate illness and regrow missing organs and tissue. The suggestions for such a plant would change the whole Star Trek universe, as it is a cure for death and sickness!
9. The Enemy Within (Episode 4)
The Plot: Captain Kirk is split into individuals because of a transporter malfunction. One is the good Cap while the other is a baddie. Since the transporter is on a fritz, many crew members are stranded on a planet below whose temperature is freezing at a rapid pace.
The Mistake: The Enterprise has shuttlecrafts. In fact, they have a whole hangar loaded with them. They could have easily sent one down to the planet and brought everybody back.
