The Dark Knight is an awesome movie. It might have missed the brilliant time of comic-book adaptations that we are in now, yet there’s a purpose behind that and that is; it’s the one which began it.

10. It Can Be Enjoyed As A Standalone Movie
These days, comic-book films are saturated with easter eggs and references to different movies. Sometimes, viewing the most recent Marvel film can make you feel that you skipped comic-book class. This can rapidly turn out to be very confusing.
There’s undeniable delight of viewing an independent story, and The Dark Knight is just that. It doesn’t depend on a suite of different films to prop up its inadequacies; it is crude and complete.
9. It Took Sensible Liberties With The Source Material
When you’re directing an adaptation, do you need to religiously comply with the source material? The answer is no; not religiously in any case. However, you do need to keep the characters in a manner that they gel with the vibe of the film along with their essence.
Lamentably, this has been disregarded various times throughout the years. As it is, Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor wasn’t generally Lex Luthor, and Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer’s Galactus wasn’t a world-crushing cosmic element. He was a cloud. Whereas, The Dark Knight did what any sensible adaptation would do – it carefully chose the most reasonable components of its source material and changed them to fit the tone and universe of the film.
